I have chosen to print my final designs on 200gsm paper to give the designs more presence when they are hanging up in public. I feel this was the right choose because with more weight my designs where able to achieve the professional look I wanted.

These are my final outcomes for my environmental campaign.  I have used pictograms and typography to create six posters, each poster is recommending one of six of my campaigns recommended ways of transport around the UK. The campaign is called Eco-UK with the aim of encouraging people to use these forms of transport rather than others to get across the UK. The campaign has a QR code which will take you to a Facebook page where people can like their chosen form of transport, this will be shared with their friends and hopefully encourage more people to follow the campaign and chose a more friendly alternative mode of transport.  I have used a pastel green colour on a black background to enhance the pictograms, immediately bringing them to the attention of the public.

This is a our final outcome which we feel communicates the kind of feeling that we wanted to get out of it.  We decided that the reflection and the type should go either side of him with the reflection on the left because people eyes normally go from left to right, this way they will finish with the name of the film drive. The font we choose we decided to use car tyre mark so it relates to the films name “drive”.

This image was produced towards the end of our development work and we were happy to go with the style of the work and the angle he was drawn in.  We thought that the shadows could almost swallow him keeping the mysterious nature of the character alive.

Some threshold ideas that we produce to see what kind style comes out of this process.

Here we where trying out other styles of work, we thought that black and white drawings would portray the dark side of the character. We thought that if the black and white drawings had blood running down the face it would have a nice effect and sit well with the main character.

Here are some of are initial ideas that we produced to get an idea of what style we are looking for.

IMAGES TAKEN FROM THE FILM ‘DRIVE’ (AND ARE THEREFORE NOT OWNED BY ME OR THE GROUP I WORKED IN!)

Here are some of the screen shots used as reference material for our competition brief. We have chosen some of the most iconic shots from the film.

Here we began to look at another aspect of the film and we felt that another aspect of the film that stood out was the back of his jacket, which has a yellow scorpion on it.  The scorpion we felt was another iconic image that related to the film.  Here we tried to recreate it in the free hand vector drawing style we had been producing. We also felt that having his back turned will show the mysterious side of his character, the dark shades also help portray this message.

These are from our first idea that we initially wanted to produce. We decided that we wanted to use an iconic part of the car so we decided to go with the rear view mirror, as in the film it is featured in the chase scenes.  We wanted to only be able to see a little bit of his face as he is quite a mysterious character in the film and at the same time we wanted to portray the car in the image.  The drawing style we decided to go for was very much a free hand vector drawing look which I think we achieved here.
